mdsal-4.0.4 has been released, the release notes are here:

The following issues were addressed relative to mdsal-4.0.3:

[MDSAL-466] - OSGi bundle scanner updates SchemaContext during shutdown

Aside from this a fixup of MDSAL-416 and a couple of minor optimizations.
