OpenDaylight Vieux project repository and services

Phil Robb

Hey All:

There are a small number of companies in various industries that use the mark "DLUX" but there doesn't seem to be much overlap with what OpenDaylight is doing.  It should be OK to use the name dlux for this project, but if someone complains to us in the future we would have to do something different.

Phil.

Too clever, IMO, and has the prospect to confuse everyone.

+1 for dlux .. I suggested the same name on IRC channel when we were discussing new name for AngularUI.

Thanks

+1. Yes. This evolved in the IRC and dlux is a clever wordplay on UX, DayLight and Deluxe.

Shouldn't it be Open Daylight UX then? The consortium is called open daylight right?

TSC members,

Andy has been his usual best in getting the project setup up and running.
But, based on the creation review feedback (which we agree after learning
the meaning of it),
We certainly don't want a "old man" name to the project :-).

And based on the previous concerns on trademark conflicts on the name,
Andrew Kim has consolidated
all the proposed names under : http://pastebin.com/jbDvghWh (in the order
of preference).
Unusual turn of events for non project member to recommend a name...

but perhaps:

dlUX (Daylight UX)

?

TSC members,

Andy has been his usual best in getting the project setup up and running.
But, based on the creation review feedback (which we agree after learning
the meaning of it),
We certainly don't want a "old man" name to the project :-).

We will appreciate if Phil can help with clearing one of the names from
this list and TSC can give
a nod (I hope a TSC vote is not needed). This will enable Andy to help us
with the name change.

Thanks,
Madhu

It is somewhat a bit late yes. The TSC ratified your project with the
name vieux, I sort of need to stick with it unless they say otherwise.
Besides, I've built out everything on that name! ;)

Gerrit doesn't let me just delete repositories once they're created, I
can make them hidden and inaccessible but not easily delete them once
created.

That being said, you get the TSC to say use a different name and I'll
change things, simple as that. Mind you, the repo isn't currently
publicly accessible yet, I don't open them to the public till I'm asked
to by the committer team.

Hi Andy,

There were some concerns on the name vieux :-)
And we will put this up for a vote in IRC tomorrow.
Is it too late for that ?

Greetings folks,

This little note is to let you know that the integration repository,
mailman lists & base bugzilla project is in place.

You all are listed as the committer team which is why you're getting
this note.

I will be getting your Jenkins silo stood up today (though it might
honestly be as late as tomorrow).
