Is it typical/allowed to just borrow another organization's code of conduct the way we borrow code licenses? or should we read these codes and pick and choose what we like?

Is it typical/allowed to just borrow another organization's code of conductThere is a lot of sharing of content/ideas, for sure. In my experience,
the way we borrow code licenses? or should we read these codes and pick and
choose what we like?
project's tend to make it their own.
