SNMP plugin system test
Luis Gomez <luis.gomez@...>
Hi Paiwei,
We are currently building a test bed for OpenDaylight system test, so I would need some information from SNMP project. In your case I see you are using existing SAL services (like Flow Programmer) to integrate SNMP Ethernet switches into SDN. Now my question is: 1) What kind of SNMP switch device are you using in your development? 2) Can we get something similar to do system test? otherwise any recommendation for doing system test? Thanks/Luis |

Thanks Christine, just let us know when you have a switch we can test with as well as when your API/features get finalized.

This issue is also important to us, if we find out a solution, will let you know ASAP. Thanks! By the way, if you know or if you have heard of any kind of Ethernet switch simulator, please feel free to tell us, we are glad to try. Thanks. Christine -----Original Message-----

Thank the group and thanks for the quick help. It seems quagga can simulate some protocols but is not a simulation switch. Apologies that I didn't clearly describe the need for Ethernet switch simulator in SNMP4SDN. It is as follow: (1) Simulation Ethernet switch is needed for the snmp4sdn plugin so that the plugin can send SNMP query to the switch and receive SNMP reply from the switch. (2) (Optional) In further, if a simulation switch of specific vendor product is available, then, for the switch configuration not supported by SNMP (e.g. ACL configuration), the snmp4sdn plugin can configure the switch through CLI.
