Thanks to Colin for your suggestion.
Please excuse me for taking the liberty to write to MPLS-TP service team. It is nice to see you have the similar requirements on MPLS-TP with us. It just to show that those requirements are common and valid. We think Colin’s suggestion make sense. It is very useful to have some conversation between both teams and let’s see if we can have some coordination further. For the interface between Controller and Forwarding equipment (Southbound Driver), we hope to create a common TTP based on Openflow+OF-config. And we began to proposed some documents in ONF from last year and now we have almost finished the specification and TTP coding. If you are interested in, you can access the link: onf2015.552.02 . If possible, let’s see if we can work together on it further.

It would be good to see if you could coordinate to see if you could build the common parts in a single place. For example, maybe the southbound driver for MPLS-TP would be a common project and there would be two applications on top of that? --Colin

Hi Weiqiang, I just got the information about the other MPLS-TP project proposal after George’s email. I think it is very good to know each other for the both team and see how we can coordinate it further. From the both proposal, I think only small part of the both projects are similar. However, the application scenarios and implementation are totally different. I know it may be allowed to have two implementations. But doesn't it make sense to collaborate together if they are basically going to do exactly the same thing in two different approaches? I am not sure how much these two projects have already progressed in design and implementation. If one is leading, it may make sense for the proposed committers from the other team to join them. I think we do need some conversations with MPLS-TP service team to understand the both project further. Currently, Team from China Mobile have almost finished the prototype coding based on the requirements from field networks. And the basic test result shows the Opendaylight based solution is very promising. We believe other operators and vendors have the similar requirements, so we hope to contribute some to ODL community. If they are in fact going to tackle different problems, I would at least expect some change in the name. "MPLS-TP-Solution" and "MPLS-TP Service" are surely going to confuse the users, specially given both of you will attempt to use "OpenDaylight MPLS-TP" in many of the docs, omitting the "-Solution" or "Service" prefix. Good suggestion. We will hope to change the name after we coordinate it with MPLS-TP service team. Thank you. Regards, Pradeeban.

It seems that there are some overlaps for the requirement. However, the implementation approach seems different. Let me give some background of our proposal.: - Our implementation is the solution to address our standard efforts actively worked by both ONF and ITU-T. If you want to know information about the ONF/ITU-T effort, I’d be happy to provide more details about it. - For the software implementation, up to now, we have already created prototype coding and in the process of finalizing and testing. In fact, we have done a lot of integration with several different vendors platform. The result looks very promising. I’ve added several of my colleagues, in case they have more information to share with us. B.R. Weiqiang Cheng

I added your proposal to the wiki page under proposals submitted for review section.
Without digging into details, somehow, MPLS-TP Solution proposal looks similar with MPLS-TP service https://wiki.opendaylight.org/view/Project_Proposals:MPLS-TP_Service
