Opendove installation and use: help request
Pasquale Dir <phate867@...>
Hello everyone, I am a student and, for my thesis work, I need to create an sdn overlay lvl3 network. I found the opendaylight and, among its projects who would allow me to accomplish my task, I found opendove the most interesting and complete one so I'd like to get started with it.
Problem is that I think the wiki is a little outdated: it points me to download a 0.1 version of opendaylight...but now the 1.0 version, hydrogen is live. Moreover, among its start options, I can see the
./run.sh -virt opendove so I would take that opendove is ALREADY integrated into opendayligh and I would have no need to build it manually...but I can see no web interface for it, like your presentation would announce and this makes me think I am missing something. And, by reading at your presentation, I can deduce opendove uses a modified version of openvswitch...is that right? But no mention about it in the wiki.
Well, as you can see I am pretty confused so I am asking for your help :) I'd just like to know where exactly opendove is, how to start it and how to interact with it to create a simple overlay network 192.168.100.0/24 with the hypervisors I specify.
Also, if there is a more complete documentation I would be very interested in it...REST apis are fine, even though I am developing my project in java so java bindings would be better (I remember I read somewhere that opendove had java apis...).
Thank you for reading, hoping for a little help Pasquale

I add that I am currently using a 13.10 version of ubuntu, and I have the repository version of openvswitch installed, the 1.10.2 one...but if a more recent version is needed I have no problems to install it from scratch.
