The OVSDB infrastructure code is undergoing a major revamp.
  1. We are moving away from jsonrpc4j towards netty based custom 2-way JSON-RPC implementation.
  2. Moving away from String and custom message parsing towards Jackson Marshalling/Demarshalling to POJOs directly.
  3. Better Monitor / Update handling
  4. Protocol Library / Plugin separation.
Hacking with the current existing code will be rendered unusable soon.
So, I would suggest to hold off on that.
